Addyson McQuaig Hi, my name is Addyson and I race BMX. My very first race was 1 week after my 1st birthday. I have raced all over Ontario, as well as New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan, North Carolina and South Carolina and Oklahoma at the Grands. I finished 5th out of 15 Strider riders at the 2014 US Grands. I have been featured on the STRIDER website as “The Daily Dose of Cuteness” and got to be part of the 2014 STRIDER calendar as a January “Calendar Kid”. I currently race an SSQUARED JR XL as well as an SSQUARED EXPERT cruiser. I like to race and hang out with my teammates and friends at the track and look forward to the new season and getting back to see everyone. 2017 was a very successful year. Addyson raced 2 classes all year. She started the year as a 5 yr. old and with a late July birthday joined the 6 yr. old girls in time for the season end finals while also racing 10 and under girl’s cruiser the whole time. Addyson won 2 Provincial Championships, 2 CNAG #2 plates and finished 3rd in the Gold Cup North East and made the podium both days at the Ontario rounds of the Canada Cup. Addyson also raced at the World’s as part of Team Canada finishing 31st. Addyson will be riding 2 brand new SSQUARED/ANSWER bikes for 2018 and would like to thank the sponsors for the continued support. 2018 Addyson continued racing 2 classes and at some Nationals chose to add Open as well. For the second year in a row Addyson was chosen for team Canada but chose not to participate due to the location. Addyson put a lot of effort into her training and racing and it paid off with 2 more Provincial #1 plates, CNAG #2 for 10 and Under Girls Cruiser, CNAG #3 for 7 Girls, District #2 for Girls Cruiser and District # 6 for Girls. Although she didn’t appreciate it at the time she spent a majority of the season racing against boys, but, she now sees how it has made her faster and taught her to focus on good gates and using her size and strength on the straights and in the corners. Addyson also raced in Toronto attempting to qualify for the 2019 Worlds in Belgium where she finished 2nd and automatically made the Team. Addyson finished 2018 with multiple wins and during the US Grands was described as the Most Improved by her competitors and parents. She is looking forward to 2019 and would like to thank her sponsors for the continued support. 2019 has started off very well with Addyson attending her first event of the season and winning both class and cruiser as well as being named to the Canadian National Team. Addyson plans to continue to race both class and cruiser this year and continue working on her skills to achieve another successful year. Addyson has a page at mcquaigracing.com to track her progress and results as well as her bio page on USABMX to get her full race history.
