8x from Oxford, Mi and Clayborn BMX's newest. In his first year he finished in the Michigan state #3 spot as a novice/intermediate. The state series final being the last win he needed to move into the intermediate class. Beginning the 2013 season as an intermediate Ryder was undefeated in his first 3 national weekends, moving him quickly into the expert class. After entering the expert class and turning 7 in the same weekend there was a learning curve, but Ryder finished the season with a NAG #20 in class and #6 on cruiser. The 2014 season has been a great year learning and progressing, with a lot of podium finishes. Ryder finished 2014 NAG 11 in class and NAG 8 on his cruiser. And looks forward to a great 2015 with Clayborn.

In August of 2014 at a Vintage Bike Show at Waterford Oaks BMX, that his father took him to, Lukas, was introduced to BMX. On a WalMart bike, track helmet and pads, he almost instantly feel in love with the sport. In May of 2015 he won his first local race as a 5 year old. Also in that month he broke his arm while falling down a few stairs. Lukas turned 6 in June of 2015 and was back on the track in July. In September he broke his other arm while falling off a playground structure at a neighbors house. He finished 2015 season with 5 wins in novice class. 2016 started off with a 1st place finish at the first State race of the year. Four local wins followed quickly after that state race 1st place finish. In the same week in June of 2016, Lukas turned 7 and became an intermediate rider. The struggle to make mains at State races was difficult to endure. More practice and learning to use clipless pedals throughout that summer started to show him some rewards. At the State series final in August, he finished 3rd and was awarded the #7 State Plate for his class. Unlike the previous year, he continued to race throughout the fall and traveled out of the state for the first time and raced cruiser class for the first time. The 2017 season started off with racing almost every weekend at Rock City Indoor. Cruiser class was a struggle but he continued to progress well on his class bike. The first state race was in March. Unlike in previous State races, Lukas made his main but was unable to get comfortable in a full gate. An 8th place finish was not what he was looking for. More practice and work in gate seemed to be the answer. Mains made in the next two state races with 3rd place finishes are more acceptable to him. Finished off the 2017 State Series with the #3 Plate in 8 intermediate and #2 Plate in 8 cruiser. Honored to be racing for team #OFFRacing . Lukas turned expert in October of 2017! He finished the 2017 season with district #26 in class and district #8 in cruiser.

Former NBL rider FROM 2000-2006. Making my reemergence into the scene 14 years later. I'm looking forward to reconnecting with the bmx community and chasing some more wins. I grew up working in bicycle shops and followed that out to Albuquerque, NM for 10 years. I've always been a cyclist in one form or another since I was 5. Not taking riding seriously until I was 15 after my first race. Alas, time changes all things... My father was a track director at Richfield park BMX for 2 seasons, RIP Thomas McCarthy Jr. Sean and I will be making you proud from here on out.
