Redline Cup Finals Announced
The 2012 Redline Cup Series qualifying began in January in the east region at Thrifty Acres Indoor BMX in Greenville, Michigan. Since that opening qualifier, eleven of the 76 regional qualifying races have been held. The qualifying series features races in the east, central, and west regions of the United States and Canada. Qualifying for the finals will conclude at Grand Valley BMX in Grand Junction, Colorado, August 25. With the qualifying series spanning over 8 months and featuring 24 qualifying races in the central region, 27 qualifying races in the east region, and 25 races in the west region, this 76 race regional series is sure to have a qualifying race near you.
The Redline Cup Series involves a rider counting his/her best score from a Redline Cup Race event, according to the Redline Cup/State/Provincial Points Table, and his/her scores from Saturday & Sunday at the Redline Cup Final. The qualifying races will count as triple district points and riders can participate in as many qualifiers as they choose. In addition to earning triple district points at the qualifiers, the Finals, both Saturday and Sunday will also offer quadruple district points for riders. In addition to earning quadruple district points, a Redline Cup jacket and #1 plate will be awarded to the winner in each age & skill level; we also award Redline Cup #2 & #3 plates.
The 2012 Redline Cup Series Finals will be held beginning in October at three tracks that have all hosted national events. The first stop will be in the Kansas City, Missouri area October 5-7. Blue Springs BMX will be the hosts of the Redline Cup Central Finals. Blue Springs BMX was last home to the Mid America Nationals in 2009.
The next stop will be in the east the weekend of October 12-14 for the Redline Cup East Finals.
The weekend of October 19-21 will be the Redline Cup West Finals. This event will feature a UCI Category 5 race for the pros and welcome the USA BMX rig to the grounds for the first time. As a long time staple on the NBL National Series, FBX @ Woodward Park Fresno in Fresno, California will play hosts to the riders in the west region.
With 76 races to qualify for the finals and finals held in each region, the Redline Cup Series has become the series of choice for many USA BMX riders. The complete Redline Cup Series qualifying schedule can be found by clicking here .
