USA BMX Announces Dates & Locations for 
2018 Regional Gold Cup Championships

Ever since the mid-80's, the ABA / USA BMX has put on the regional Gold Cup series. From January 2018 until August, nearly a hundred BMX venues around the country will host a Gold Cup race - for riders to build up their points to take into the FInals weekend. On the line for riders of all ages are No.1, 2 and 3 plates with the famous yellow-background of a Gold Cup Champ. Winners will also take home a custom Gold Cup Championship jacket, as well as the large Gold Cup Finals trophy. 

And here, for your early September scheduling and planning, are five of the six venues for the 2018 Gold Cup Champs: 

Weekend of September 7-9, 2018: SOUTH CENTRAL & SOUTH WEST FINALS 

Gold Cup Championship South Central - Gretna BMX - Gretna, LA 
After proving themselves with a great local scene, the time has come for Gretna BMX to host their first ever major USA BMX event - the Gold Cup Finals. We are all looking forward to going to one of Louisiana's best BMX tracks this September. With a thriving local program and a top-notch facility, Gretna BMX will kick off the first of six Gold Cup FInals. 


Gold Cup Championship South West - Location TBA 
USA BMX plans to announce the location of the South West FInals soon - but for now, you'll just have to wait patiently and make no other plans for the weekend of Sept. 7 thru 9. 

Weekend of September 14-16, 2018: NORTH EAST & NORTH CENTRAL FINALS

 

Gold Cup Championship North Central - East Moline BMX - East Moline, IL
In the past, East Moline has hosted National competition and USA BMX members will be thrilled to return to the awesome track and it's seriously banked asphalt berms. 

Gold Cup Championship North East - Akron BMX - Akron, OH
For those chasing after a Gold Cup #1 plate and jacket, it'll be a return to Ohio - Akron, to be exact, for the Gold Cup Finals North East. With a prime, central location, USA BMX expects a great turnout of the Fastest East Coast riders, to duke it out for the yellow No.1 plate.

Weekend of September 28-30, 2018 NORTH WEST & SOUTH EAST FINALS

Gold Cup Championship North West - Columbia Basin BMX - Richland, WA
Former host of the Lumberjack Nationals, the Columbia Basin BMX facility nothing short of first class. Surrounded by lights, and with one of the best track surfaces in the business, Richland's venue is the perfect place to hand out the multiple No.1 Gold Cup plates.  


Gold Cup Championship South East - Blanchard Woods BMX - Evans, GA
Having hosted the Gold Cup FInals previously, the BMX World will be stoked to return to the Augusta-area to one of the finest BMX venues in the South East.
