Sooner Nationals Race Report
Day 1 of the 2016 Sooner Nationals is in the books and what a race it was. Friday's was the first 3-day national of the year and featured 171 motos of action inside the Ford Truck Arena.
A-Pro kicked the main events off and rookie Chrystofer Davis (Velocity) shocked the world and took the win from wire to wire in the first of three mains. Santiago Marin (Hostile Elite) looked good until he buzzed Hunter Pelham's (Redline) rear tire in the second corner and hit the Oklahoma clay. The elbows were out in 13-14 Girl Cruiser as Hostile Elite's Jaycie Sinclair swooped underneath leader Mackezie Gayheart in turn 2. The Florida girl wasn't having and held her line like a seasoned pro. Sinclair would unclip and fall back to fourth.
Minnesota's Travis Gasner had quite the cheering section as he jumped out to an early lerad in 13 Cruiser but Free Agent's Bryce Rose had other ideas of how he wanted the race to go. The two tangled elbows towards the end of the second straight and Gasner's front tire found the soft track edge and he went down. Colorado's Zack Keelan was in the right place at the right time and grabbed the victory. Rose, who cam unclipped in the maylay held on to third.
31-35 Cruiser only had 4 riders show but the race action was still on fire. Doublecross' Adam Scott was looking great all day long and in the main until the third straight rythem section. Cali's Christian Ricks blew by the retired marine and nabbed the victory.
Louisiana's Chris Kennedy just picked up a brand new sponsor in Black Crown and he did his sponsor proud by talking the 46-50 group by storm. Northwest legend David archibald did everything he could to get around Kenedy but he was forced to settle for the two spot.
