Owen started racing in the new Beginner League in August of 2018 and never left the race track. We kicked his training wheels and two weeks later had him out there on the track. He raced through Novice locally at his home track, Cowtown BMX and then as an Intermediate started chasing the Gold Cup and State Series. In 2020 as an 8 Intermediate, he earned #1 in the Gold Cup series for the South Central region, Second at ROC, Third at Grands and then Fifth at Grands in Mixed Opens amongst 67 other riders. It was the largest group at Grands in 2020. 2021 is bringing him more into the race for National status. We are chasing NAG points this year and hoping for a good result, turn out. Owen trains regularly with female Pro rider, Shealen Reno, and from time to time has clinics with Expert rider Tristan Judd. He is surrounded by talented and hard working peers that push and motivate him in this sport so much that he aspires to turn Pro some day. He currently races for his own team, Lone Wolf BMX, and as parents plan to keep him on his own for a while so he can focus on his growth in the sport. Owen said after his first day ever on the track, "Dad. I'm going to BMX forever!"
