(From the 2010 NATIONAL BMX HALL OF FAME Ceremnoy) Few industries have a person so well known and respected that one name suffices in identifying them. In the music biz, there's Bono, Cher and Madonna. And in BMX, we have "gOrk." (usually spelled with a small "g," and capital 'O.") As someone who has raced since 1976 - at age 13, on both the local and national level (UBR National No.1 sidehack three years running), rode-in and promoted freestyle shows in its infancy, worked in the warehouse at CW Racing, and served as Editor of both the iconic BMX ACTION and ABA`s BMXer Magazines, before becoming marketing director of Redline BIcycles for 11 years - it's safe to say that gOrk has made his mark on nearly every era of our sport It was during the 90's - with the ABA, when he began doodling the characters known as Juan Hander & Noah Footer - which are currently in the process of being scanned an retouched for a series of books. In 1999, after 10 years with ABA, gOrk moved to the Pacific Northwest to join Seattle Bike Supply as the Director of Marketing for their flagship brand, Redline Bicycles. It was there, with the red, white and black that he assembled some of the greatest Redline riders in the brand's history - from Bubba Harris to Kim Hayashi, to Sam Willoughby, Alise Post and Jason Carne$. In 2011, gOrk returned to Arizona to work for USA BMX as their Chief Communications Officer, where he is managing editor of PULL and in charge of all social media and website communication with the members of USA BMX.

Been riding BMX since I was 10 with a 15 year hiatus after some killer injuries and life etc. Best part of BMX is that the whole family can participate. Nothing is better than watching my children progress in life and this sport teaches them many values necessary for success: Practice, Hard Work, Persistence, and Sportsmanship along with countless others. Hoping to establish a fun and productive Coaching program at Sand Springs BMX over the next couple of years. After all my sponsor Landstar Racing and Sand Springs has done for my family and I it's nice to give back to the community that has taught me so much over the years. See you at the track!

I started racing when I was 14 back then the sweet tracks were in Arvada( remember the bridge) and at Boulder County Fairgrounds during the winter Indoor, that was fun. I Quit when i was around 17. I always rode mountain bikes of and on and was a hard core road biker for about the last 6 years up until June 2018. I Just started Riding bmx again in June of 2019 and started racing again at the same time. I'm in Intermediate Class Trying to gain my feet again and trying to get used to this 20" but these young expert riders are fast and I'm having trouble keeping up. i just need to push myself hard, start hitting the gym, and have NO FEAR!! . UPDATE: 07/01/20 - practicing and getting better gunning for the #1 in state this year. I think I can do it as long as I don't get stuck racing experts all year. Also really trying my best to earn 18 scratch that 17 more 1st places this year so I can move up to expert which will be a much more difficult task since I'm always racing experts , but it can only make me better .
