8I Glen Allen, Virginia. Rider for ROCKET RACING BMX. Home track Richmond BMX

I first began racing BMX in 1978 at the age of 5 in on a track behind my fathers bike shop in Niagara Falls NY. I raced at a local and national level for 10 years before leaving the sport. In 2011 I returned to introduce my daughters to the sport I loved so much as a child and could not resist the temptation to get back on the track. I am now an Expert and Cruiser rider for Powers Bike Shop and recently raced at the 2014 UCI World Championships making it to the 1/8th semi. I am a USABMX Certified coach and the Track Operator for Richmond BMX where I dedicate countless hours to the sport I love so much.

I'm a humble USN Vet. I'm a Factory MAYHEM/SYNDYT/BOX rider from Fayetteville, NC. My LifeSkills as a former USN FMF Corpsman and Bmx competitor have enabled me to help veterans control severe PTSD symptoms with bicycle therapy rides at the Cape Fear River Trail here in sunny Cumberland County. Any veteran is welcome to join when I'm not competing.

My name is Kellan Redmond and I'm a 12 expert. I started BMX when I was 6 and raced for 4 years and took a 1 year break and came back last year. When I was seven I won NBL Grands and got second when I was 8 and I love to ride my bicycle.

Well, I currently ride in the 41-45 expert class, but started racing in 1984 at a NPSA track in St. Pete FL with my older bro Kirk (owner of J&R, hints the sponsor hook-up). Soon after my younger brother, Bert, and my dad started racing as well. My dad purchased a small local bike shop with like 12 bikes in it in 1990. Soon after we started vending and traveling to more races - good times! I decided to give Superclass (A-pro) a try when I turned 18. I wasn't really that fast and couldn't jump a pro section to save my life, but it was the most fun and that's all that matters. I joined the Marine Corps in 1997, but continued to race whenever I could for the next 8 years. I raced while I was stationed in Japan for a year - that was pretty awesome. The Marine Corps even sponsored a few of us, sending us to the Worlds and Grands one year. I got out of the Marines in 2005 and settled in northern Virginia were I continue to enjoy riding and racing with friends. BMX is more than just riding bikes, it's family, friends and a way of life.
