About Winchester BMX
Winchester BMX is an affiliate of USABMX and has been operating since the 1980’s. We are located in Winchester’s Jim Barnett Park just off Cork Street an operate as a private "user group" of the park district.
All ages practice and race at Winchester, we have little ones as young as 2 years old and have people having fun in their 40’s and above. A number of national BMX team members call Winchester home.
We are a volunteer run organization - at most practices there are about 4-10 people handling various things such as: performing track maintenance, running “the gate”, registering participants and selling snacks. As for planning, promotion, PR and such there are 5-6 people who spend time creating and executing plans.
We operate approximately 25-30 local races, 1 state race, 4-5 other multipoint races each year. Our track enjoys the mark of longest track within an 8 hr radius of Winchester at 1307 ft. It has a long front straight and is overall a great track for training and learning.
