REVISIONS TO SBMX “RETURN TO BMX”/COVID PROTOCOL:

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY:

We appreciate and thank everyone for their co-operation and following our track protocol to date.  It’s been amazing to see all of the riders enjoying the track during practice or racing.  With the recent news of cases on the rise, we have decided to take the following pro-active measures at the track to ensure everyone has the safest riding experience at Stouffville BMX.

  1.  All Concessions will be suspended until the end of the season.  Please make arrangements to bring your own snacks and drinks while at the track.

  1.  Masks will be required during our events for all track volunteers that work inside the track gate, including Staging, Scoring, Corners, Awards.   Masks will be provided to those volunteers who need one.

  1. No spectators or parents inside the track gate during our practices or race events.  Only track volunteers or riders are permitted.  The only exception will be parents assisting Striders on the track during a race or parents up at the gate assisting riders in the 5 and under Novice class.  Masks will be required if you are assisting your rider.

  1. The bleachers will be partially taped off to encourage physical distance between spectators.  We remind everyone to always keep appropriate distance between others  not in your family or bubble throughout the park area.

  1. Practice:  we will use 3 lanes only marked with pylons for practice, along with asking riders to use the orange lines to keep a physical distance between each other while going up to the gate.  All riders must have their gear and helmets on prior to entering the track

  1. Rentals:  we will no longer be able to offer helmet rentals to NEW riders going forward.  Only those with reserved helmets for Learn to Ride and those who have rented helmets for previous practice/race events can be accommodated through the rest of the season.  Bike rentals will continue as needed.

For many BMX has been a sport that has continued during the Covid pandemic and we want to make sure we can keep it that way!

Please respect the “Return to BMX” document and the updates provided in this document.

See you at the track
