The 2015 UCI BMX Supercross World Cup calendar, published today on the UCI website, will comprise five rounds in five different countries.

Proceedings will get under way in Manchester (Great Britain) on April 18th and 19th. The National Cycling Centre is home to British Cycling and its indoor Supercross track is a classic World Cup destination.

Another popular venue, the Olympic Training Centre in Papendal (The Netherlands), follows three weeks later. On the calendar since 2011, Papendal is a favourite with athletes, media and officials alike. In 2013 it was voted best event of the World Cup thanks to its excellent organisation, track, venue, atmosphere and event promotion.

On August 15th and 16th, the athletes will discover a new World Cup destination in Engelholm (Sweden) before moving to the American continent for the final two rounds in September. These will take place at the popular Argentinean venue of Santiago del Estero, followed by Rock Hill in the USA. The South Carolina city joins the World Cup calendar for the first time, and will also host the UCI BMX World Championships in 2017.

“We are very pleased that once again organisers are coming forward to host rounds of the UCI BMX Supercross World Cup”, says UCI Off-Road Manager Peter Van den Abeele. “Our organisers are doing a great deal for the development of BMX, while at the same time showcasing the host cities as sporting and tourist destinations.”

He added that BMX was continuing to grow worldwide, and the arrival of new events, such as the first-ever World Cup round in Sweden, was a demonstration of this development.
