SCR rescheduled - Track still closed due to Covid-19 virus
Here at Richfield Park BMX, our track is still shut down to all bike activity until the State of Michigan ends the Social distancing Stay home Stay safe executive order. The only track allowed to restart it's race season it GTC BMX in Traverse City. Their area has not been hit as severely as the southern portion of the Lower Penninsula. Hence, they have been given the thumbs up to begin their race season using social distancing criteria in an effort to prevent the spread of the virus.
We are hoping that we can do the same and get back into having some fun while racing. If you aren't aware, this past year at the end of the race season, we rebuilt our second and third straights. It's just one more reason we want to get racing again and give all racers a chance to experience the new design. In the meantime, I have been allowed to work on maintaining and tweaking the track so it will be ready come that day we been waiting for.
As of this day, we have had to cancel 6 gate practice sessions and 5 single point races. One of the races was to have been our Race for Life. We also have re-scheduled our Annual SCR qualifier from Sunday June 14, 2020 to Sunday August 2, 2020 to avoid having to cancel the event. So, if you had plans to race at our SCR, please make note that the date has been forwarded to the first Sunday in August. We realize that there is a 3 dayNational event scheduled at Milton BMX in Canada that weekend. However, at this time, the border with Canada is currently closed to any traffic from either side. We are not sure if we will be able to travel to Canada in the near future. We will do our best to keep everyone updated on the situation regarding when racing will be starting back up and as soon as possible
Thanks for supporting Richfield Park BMX
