Stay To Save - FAQs
What is Stay to Save?
For the 2015 USA BMX National Series, the pre-registration discount has now become the “Stay to Save” program. By simply staying at a USA BMX host hotel and pre-registering for the event online, participants will receive $5 off each national entry for class and cruiser (Pre-Races and Open classes not included). Booking a USA BMX host hotel could not be easier, as the reservation process has been completely integrated directly into the online pre-registration. USA BMX has negotiated the lowest rates possible at a variety of hotels within all price ranges.
If you would like to book a USA BMX host hotel room outside of the pre-registration process, please visit www.bmxhotels.com for a complete listing. Please keep in mind the discount only applies when you pre-register before the pre-registration deadline.
Why is USA BMX implementing the Stay to Save policy?
There are several reasons why USA BMX is implementing the new Stay to Save program, but chief among them is leveraging the buying power created by our members to offer you, the customer, great hotel rates to save money! The Stay to Save policy is the single most effective tool we have to encourage hotels to offer more rooms for our participants at bulk discounted prices. Additionally, by increasing the amount of room nights actually used for the purpose of attending our events, USA BMX is able to prove to the host cities the positive impact of BMX on their local economy. By doing so, the impact is profound for the sport of BMX, especially for the local tracks, which host national events. The positive economic impact is often the reason why municipalities will invest in creating new tracks or improve an existing track.

How do I participate in Stay to Save?
That’s the easy part! Log in to www.usabmx.com and pre-register for your next national event. During the pre-registration process, you will have the opportunity to book at a Host Hotel and will receive the Stay to Save discount. Additionally, you can book your rooms separately by visiting www.bmxhotels.com
What is a USA BMX Host Hotel?
A hotel that has contracted with USA BMX to offer rooms at a set price for USA BMX attendees. To see the USA BMX Host Hotels please visit www.BMXHotels.com
Do I have to stay at a USA BMX Host Hotel?
Of course not! You will not receive the discount, but you can still pre-register and save the time of standing in line during registration. But why would you not want to support the host businesses that are supporting BMX?
How does the reservation process work?
Once you have reserved a room, you will see the confirmation page with your confirmation number and you will also be sent an email. This is similar to the confirmation you would receive from an online seller like Expedia, where the confirmation is with the site, not directly with the hotel. Within a few days at most, the hotel will receive your information and forward you a second confirmation directly with the hotel.
When will my credit card be charged?
For your hotel reservation, your credit card will only be used to hold the room until check in. For complete details please review the Reservation Policy and Cancellation Policy at the time of booking
What is a Cut Off Date and why is it important?
The published hotel rate is guaranteed until the Cut Off Date. After the Cut Off Date, both the price and availability are subject to change. To ensure both availability and the best possible rate, we strongly recommend booking your room before the Cut Off Date. Please refer to each national event page for a list of hotels and Cut Off Dates.
How do I cancel my hotel reservation?
Simply follow the cancellation instructions provided in the email you received.
What if I’m not staying in a hotel or I’m camping?
Unfortunately, the Stay to Save program only applies to those staying at a USA BMX Host Hotel. However, you can still pre-register and save the time of standing in line during registration.
Can I book my hotel separately from pre-registering?
Yes! Simply visit www.BMXHotels.com and book your room. When you pre-register later, you can add your confirmation number to the “Already Booked?” field and click Apply.
What happens if I made a hotel reservation and pre-registered, but cannot attend the race?
Your hotel cancellation will be subject to your selected hotel’s cancellation policy as published at the time booking. National event pre-registrations are non-refundable, however, if you notify USA BMX via phone before the close of pre-registration you will be issued a credit, which can be used for future national entries.
What if I cancel my reservation, but still wish to participate in the race?
Per the cancellation policy, which is published with each hotel reservation, should the reservation be canceled and the associated rider(s) still compete in the USA BMX event, you will be responsible for reimbursement of the “Stay to Save” discount.
Can I redeem Hotel Reward Points and still participate in Stay to Save?
Unfortunately, hotel reward points and Stay to Save cannot be combined. However, you can certainly still pre-register and save yourself from standing in line during post registration.
Why isn't the hotel I want a USA BMX Host Hotel?
We consider proposals from any hotel that wants to be a USA BMX Host Hotel. However, no one can force a hotel to offer a room block for an event; it is a decision by the hotel to offer discounted rates to BMXers.
Sometimes hotels have other business booked so they do not have rooms available to give us a block.
Some hotels offer rooms at rates we think are too high. (We've never had a hotel want to charge less than what we think is reasonable - it's always the other way around.)
Some hotels are just not suitable for youth sports or prefer not to do business with sports teams.
A Few Myths About Stay To Save
MYTH #1: I can get cheaper rooms at Expedia, Hotels.com, Hotelplanner.com and other web sites.
FACT: The rates at Host Hotels should always be cheaper than the online sellers. Additionally, there are usually only 2-5 rooms available at the super low rates quoted by 3rd party online sellers, and the rates are not available to groups. Usually you have to prepay the room in full at the time of booking with a "no refunds" policy. Also, websites like hotelplanner.com add extra booking fees on top of the rates after you book.
MYTH #2: Stay to Save prohibits individuals from earning their Hotel Rewards Points.
FACT: Regardless of the Stay to Save program, an individual can earn their own points for a room at a USA BMX Host Hotel.
MYTH #3: There are lower rates available outside the deadline.
FACT: After the deadline, hotels have the right to do what they can to sell their remaining inventory. Like airline flights, people booking very close to the event sometimes get a lower rate - or a much higher rate - depending on the number of rooms the hotel has remaining in inventory. Our rates are always going to be the overall lowest available rate.
