ABA’s very first two-time consecutive No. 1 Amateur, from 1979 and 1980. Richie began his 
legendary career in the Bay Area of Northern California, racing for Hank `N Frank. Following the Patterson Bros., Richie switched to longtime sponsor Patterson Racing, where he had his own Signature frame - the "Anderson Avalanche." He made BMX ACTION’s original "Terrible Ten" in 1983. With the demise of Patterson Racing, Richie rode for Skyway from 1984 to 1988, and turned pro in `87. He retired from BMX in 1989 but made a comeback in the 90`s with the start of ABA`s Masters class.
