Toby aced from 1976 to 1988. He was originally sponsored by DG, with Hall of Famer Jeff Bottema. The two went on to the bigtime Raleigh effort during 1978 to 1980. Toby and Jeff became the first International BMX stars, traveling the world promoting the sport of BMX and Raleigh bikes. He invented his own "Signature Jump" - a one-footer one-hander variation called the "Henderson." Turned pro in 1980. Raced pro for Hutch from 1981 to 1983. Cruiser World Champion in 1983. Rode for SE Racing from 1984 to 1986. Test rode for BMX ACTION magazine between 1985 to 1987. Today, Toby works in the cycling industry.
